Dorchester in Sea Point, Cape Town, was a dark and restricted apartment in need of a total rebuild and refurbishment. The dwelling was originally two bedrooms with a single bathroom. We knocked out some walls and did a clever repurposing of the existing space. By optimising what was available, we managed to give each bedroom its own bathroom, making both bedrooms en-suite. We even added a guest toilet and a scullery/pantry to the open plan apartment.

The resulting living space is comfortable and beautiful. There was an outside common-use utility area which we cleverly converted to be exclusively used by the apartment. This exterior area is now a seated courtyard with lots of greenery – such a hidden gem in an urban apartment.
